Privacy

This website collects as little as possible. It sets no cookies, it does not measure user behaviour, and no ad network is integrated. Two things remain: the server's technical logs and what you write to me yourself in the contact form. If I contacted you on my own initiative, the section Business contacts says what I record for that.

This policy follows the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP). If you write from the EU and assert rights under the GDPR, I apply the same rights of access, rectification and erasure.

Who processes the data

Controller within the meaning of Art. 5 lit. j revFADP:

Lorien Group Güzelsahin, Sinan Güzelsahin
Hauptstrasse 98b, 5032 Aarau Rohr, Switzerland
sinan@lorien.group
+41 62 552 00 56

When you open this page

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. in the USA. Vercel logs every request technically: IP address, date and time, the address requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. Without these logs, a server cannot deliver a page or fend off an attack.

These logs stay at Vercel and are overwritten there automatically. I do not analyse them, combine them with other data or link them to any person.

When you fill in the contact form

You enter: name, company, email address, phone number, what it is about and your message. Depending on the form, your time frame or how you found me are added. The address of the page from which you sent the form is also transmitted. Name, email address and message are required; without these three I cannot reply. Everything else is optional.

The details go by email to my mailbox sinan@lorien.group. The form is processed by a function at Vercel in the USA. For delivery I use Resend, Inc. (USA). Resend carries the message and stores it temporarily on servers in the USA. The mailbox itself is at Google Workspace; your message and contact details are stored there, including on servers outside Switzerland. You also receive a confirmation at the address you gave.

I need these details to answer your enquiry. I do not pass them on, sell them or use them for advertising. There is no newsletter. I do not assess your enquiry automatically and I create no profile.

If you write to me or call me directly instead, your message, address and number stay in my mailbox or on my phone.

Cookies and measurement

This website sets no cookies. No analytics tool is integrated: no Google Analytics, no Microsoft Clarity, no Vercel Analytics, no ad pixel, no chatbot.

That is why no consent window appears. There is nothing for you to agree to. I do not see which pages you viewed or how long you stayed.

Fonts, images, embeds

The typefaces Archivo and Work Sans sit on the same server as the website. No fonts are loaded from Google. Images, signet and video are also on the site's own server.

No content from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook is embedded. Opening this website makes no connection to any of these services.

Business contacts

I also write to companies that have not yet contacted me. The reason is always an occasion that fits only this one company: something I noticed about your shop, your website or your business, an entry in the commercial register, a referral. Emails of this kind come from business@loriengroup.ch, the sender “Business Development · Lorien Group”, and name me as the person responsible. In that case, what is written here applies.

Where I get your details. From the commercial register and the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (zefix.ch, shab.ch), from your company's website, from media reports and from public phone directories. I also find and check business email addresses via Hunter (hunter.io), a service that lists business addresses published online and checks whether they can be delivered to. Referrals and personal encounters add to this. I do not buy address lists. I do not take over membership directories of associations and parties, nor content from social network profiles.

What I record. Name, role and company, your business contact details and, if available, the link to your LinkedIn profile. Also the occasion with its source, whether your address can be delivered to, when and how I contacted you and what you replied. I record nothing about your private life.

What for, and why I may do this. To contact you about exactly this occasion, by email or letter. I have a legitimate interest in offering companies a specific conversation, and for this I use only business details that are publicly accessible or that someone gave me with a referral. If you published the details yourself and did not rule out processing, under Art. 30 para. 3 revFADP this is generally not a breach of your personality. Otherwise I rely on my overriding interest under Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP, and for recipients in the EU on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

How it works. Every first message is written individually for your occasion, as an email or a letter, and I answer for every message myself. If no reply comes, an email is followed by at most two short follow-up emails, a letter by at most one email, and then it stops. Hunter's software schedules the sending, so that nothing more comes immediately after a reply or a no. Some messages refer to a short analysis of your company at www.lorien.group/b/. That page contains no details about individuals, is listed in no search engine and is deleted after 90 days. There is no newsletter, and I do not analyse whether you opened an email, clicked a link or visited that page.

Where the details are kept. In my contact database at Notion Labs, Inc., in my mailboxes at Google Workspace, for email sending at Hunter Web Services, Inc. and for letters at Pingen, which prints in Switzerland and hands over to the post. For research and drafts I use AI services from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. In the process your details may reach the USA, more on this under “Transfer abroad”. I do not sell them and do not pass them on otherwise.

How long. If no mandate results, I delete your details twelve months after the last contact, in the contact database, at Hunter and in the mailboxes. If one does, the retention below applies.

A no is enough. Reply with “no”. After that I will not write to you again, neither by email nor by letter. To keep it that way, I hold your name, company, email address, phone number and the date of your reply on a block list. It applies to every contact that runs through me. I delete everything else within 30 days, including at Hunter and in the mailboxes.

You request access, rectification and erasure by email to sinan@lorien.group or with a reply to business@loriengroup.ch. On request I will also tell you where I got your address. Your rights are set out in detail below.

When we work together

If I take on a mandate, I also process what you give me for it: contracts, quotes, business plans, numbers, names of those involved. I use these documents exclusively for this mandate.

I do not pass them on to third parties. If I bring someone in for the work, I tell you beforehand and pass on only what is needed for it. For analysis and drafts I use Anthropic's AI service. Other AI services do not receive your documents. If you do not want this for your mandate, tell me at the start and I will work without it.

How long I keep data

I delete enquiries that lead to no mandate after twelve months.

I delete business contacts that lead to no mandate twelve months after the last contact. The block list stays, so that a no remains a no.

I keep documents and correspondence from a mandate for ten years. Art. 958f CO requires this for business records. After that they are deleted or destroyed.

Transfer abroad

These providers are outside Switzerland: Vercel for hosting, Resend for sending the form emails, Google Workspace for the mailboxes, Notion for the contact database and, for business contacts, Hunter for address checks and email sending (servers in Belgium), as well as Anthropic, OpenAI and Google for research and drafts. Your data may therefore reach other countries, in particular the USA.

The Federal Council recognises an adequate level of data protection for the USA where the receiving company participates in the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. Where this is not the case, I rely on standard contractual clauses under Art. 16 para. 2 lit. d revFADP.

Security

The connection to this website is encrypted (HTTPS). Documents from mandates are access protected and transferred encrypted.

There is no absolute security on the internet. For especially sensitive documents, call beforehand and we will agree a secure route.

Your rights

Under the revFADP you have the following rights:

  • Access (Art. 25 revFADP) You can ask me to tell you what data I process about you. This is free of charge, and I generally reply within 30 days.
  • Rectification (Art. 32 para. 1 revFADP) If something is wrong, I correct it.
  • Erasure or destruction (Art. 32 para. 2 revFADP) You can request erasure unless a statutory retention duty stands in the way.
  • Delivery and transfer (Art. 28 revFADP) You can receive your data in a common electronic format.
  • Objection (Art. 30 para. 2 lit. b revFADP) You can object to processing. For business contacts, a short reply to my message is enough.
  • Complaint You can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, edoeb.admin.ch.

An email to sinan@lorien.group is enough. I do need to be sure it is you; if in doubt, I will ask.

Changes

If what this website loads changes, or if I use a different provider, I change this page and put a new date above it.
